The lie in

„The Lie-In” is a four-hour durational performance in which the artist lies on the exposed metal springs of a hollowed-out mattress. This stripped-back structure becomes a stage and metaphor: the absent cushioning revealing the gaps within institutional promises of care. By placing their body directly against the raw framework, the artist makes visible the tension between the institution’s rhetoric of support and its increasingly capitalist, productivity-driven reality.
